Album Notes
Wormreich is a southern-U.S.-based black metal band, spawned in early 2009. Initially conceived as a solo project by guitarist /Vocalist Vulk, and Guitarist Nazgul Vathron (Ian McKinney). A blasphemous entity born of a desire to create blisteringly violent, scorn-filled, dynamic, atmospheric black metal, hyper-focused on the themes of Satanism and religious inversion.
Wormreich, acclaimed as one of the fiercest and most captivating bands to come out of the U.S. "bible belt" and have a reputation for putting on air-tight and intense live performances. They have shared the stage with many legendary acts, such as Venom Inc, Necrophagia, Shining (Sweden), Abigail Williams, Thy Antichrist, and many more. Also experienced at touring and participating at many festivals, the band is prepared to venture out and play many new live experiences in the immediate future.
Despite the now infamous tragedy that claimed the lives of founding member Ian McKinney and Session bassist Paul Truesdell in 2015, Wormreich has returned with the addition of current and former members of Blood Stained Dusk, Hallow’s Eve, and Control the Devastator evolving the band into a collective of individuals and a multi-tentacled force of nature. By combining progressive elements with violent and unsettling soundscapes they have created an aural intensity all their own.
The band has completed recording their new (the bands third) full-length album entitled “Death and the Void” and an EP entitled “Feeding the Ouroboros”. The material was recorded at Crow Altar Studio under studio owner/engineer Paul Golden, who also handled the mixing before sending it over to The Barracks Studio where it was Mastered by Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh. Now ready for release, it is currently being shopped to labels.
