ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It’s never too late. At age 59, Art Katz (Winter Harvest) has at last discovered his true creative voice. From school bus driver to Air Force Staff Sergeant, from novelist to screenwriter, Art’s lifetime of various adventures form the foundation of, “Liberty Street;” four audio snapshots of a life shared with his partner, Penny Beard on Liberty Street in southwest Virginia.

Simplicity and sincerity are the watchwords here; from the honest poetry of its lyrics, to the clarity of its production, “Liberty Street” is a celebration of love and tenacity. While songs like, “Popsicle Girl” echo Art’s sentiments of the pop-rock of the sixties and early seventies, “Don’t Say Your Piece Softly” explodes with the energy and inner strength harvested from Penny’s solo journey to the 2017 “Women’s March on Washington.”

At 15 minutes in length, “Liberty Street” is a short journey, one you may find opens new windows on the beauty and wonder of music.
