ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Just when you thought music was safe, here come the WICKED TINKERS! Award-winning piping and dangerous drums are these lads' stock-in-trade. The TINKERS grab your soul with heart-pounding percussion and soaring pipes that would sound great around an ancient house burning or at a 90's rock concert. These primitive, percussive, pagan players ... these rebellious, raunchy renegades of rhythm ...what the heck, this Sherman tank of Celtic bands has just one thing to say to the dowdy formalists: "Stand back and let the WICKED ones wail!"

"If my car suddenly acquired one of those earthshaking sound systems that vibrates windows for a block in each direction, this might be the first CD I'd play. There's nothing subtle, or serious, about these guys -- just three smiling lads from California with a set of Highland bagpipes and assorted drums, having a lot of fun blasting away on an assortment of traditional and modern Scottish jigs, reels, hornpipes, and marches. A percussive wall of sound from snare and tenor drums and a booming Macedonian bass tappan reinforce Aaron Shaw's turbocharged piping on most tracks, with a couple of slow airs thrown in for a breather. Highly recommended for anyone who likes Scottish pipes and drums played with skill and power, or who just wants to scare off the neighbors."

Cool!
It's a really fun CD with great, and sometimes amusing, little explanations about each track inside.

I'm a sucker for bagpipes and I love drums too so this was right up my particular alley. A small unit built on the drum and pipe model but making plenty of noise. Good stuff. Much enjoyed and I will be buying the other releases too. I can't think of a better recommendation.

Sweeeeeet
Jason from NeoKilt warned me about these guys... If you get one CD, you should get them all. Their pipes are solid and the drums are keen for the ceileidh. And it's just fun, to boot. Highly recommended for road trips, work, and Caledonian Dance!
