Album Notes
West of Eden is the Swedish folk-rock band that has thrilled audiences in Sweden and abroad for over a decade with their unique sound and brilliant songwriting. Masterful musicianship combined with the extraordinary voice of singer Jenny Schaub and a deep love for the traditional Celtic folk music has earned them a solid reputation amongst critics and fans around the globe.

With eight highly praised albums under their belt, the band has now got used to being called “Simply phenomenal” (Rock ‘n’ Reel). “Masters of their genre” (UNT) and “The best of contemporary folk” (Irish Music Magazine)!

Over the years West of Eden have collaborated with prominent musicians such as Kate Rusby, Ron Block, Michael McGoldrick, John McCusker and many more. The Band has toured Ireland, Germany. Benelux and Scandinavia, played at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, Scotland, performed a multi-media concert together with members of the Swedish National Orchestra and also for several years hosted their popular annual Celtic Christmas-concerts.

Early 2016 West of Eden releases their new album, Look To The West, a strong collection of original songs which tells the story of the large emigration to America in the late 19th century. It’s a subject matter as present today as it was back in the days of the Swedish emigration when almost a third of the Swedish population travelled westwards from West of Eden's home town of Gothenburg to search for greener shores.

Going to a West of Eden concert, you are sure to be amazed at how the band with ease throw them selves between intimate acoustic storytelling, traditional tunes and catchy uplifting folk-rock. A truly fantastic live band!

Swedish by birth they may be, but in heart and soul they are definitely Celtic!
