Album Notes
Part Tupelo, a good size helping of the Replacements, a dash or two of the Faces, and a hook or two in the Big Star/Heartbreakers' vain...mix it up, serve in a dirty glass to Townes and Guy - while Buddy Miller prays for their souls.

Rock & Roll is considered to be the sound of revolution. It is considered to be the sound of eternal youth. It is an explosive sound that tears down walls, blurs borders, divides and conquers, "negatively" influences younger generations, gives voice to those who have none, brings light to social injustice, provides a soundtrack to celebrations and defeats, breaks hearts and soothes heartache, and changes the lives of those who hear it.

Wess Floyd is a student of Rock and Roll. Floyd has been a musical force in Nashville, TN for over 3 years now, gaining respect as both a prolific songwriter and a passionate preformer. Ryan Trusso (guitar player for Landon Pig) said, "I love to hear Wess play...I've never heard anyone who believes in what he sings so much." Nathan Barlowe (Luna Halo) stated, "Wess has got that thing that Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Guy Clark have - you can't put your finger on it, but it's real."

After going through various encarnations Wess has finally settled into the musical role that best suits him - Singer/Songwriter (with a Rock & Roll edge). He has the sensitivity of Jackson Browne, abit of Dylan's righteous anger, but no pretense...he can transition smoothly from serious notes to Springsteen/Westerberg throw away rockers - with glee.

"I want folks to see the whole picture. My favorite artists were all able to paint with many different colors in their music. I desire for my shows/albums to be part wake, part dance party, party political rally, party tent revival, part coffee shop, part honky tonk, ect. - I don't want to be boxed in."
