ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Our lives are different, but we have so much in common."

This is the theme which runs through Veronica's songwriting. "I try to write songs as the listener. The musicians and songwriters who have most inspired me have also taught me to tell a good story through my music." These influences include artists such as Joni Mitchell, Natalie Merchant, Ani DiFranco, and so many more. Like Veronica, these artists share that rare gift of the ability to craft a musical hook which entertains joined with an emotional journey that gives the listener insight into the lives of both the songwriter and the listener themselves.

Veronica expressed her passion for music early on. She started singing at age 7, took classical voice lessons, sang in choirs until she was 18, and then became the front girl of her first band, The Innocents. In recent years she’s played and sang back-up for Dick Sims, B3 player for Eric Clapton and Bob Seger, Dee Dee O’Malley, and Mitch Mercoulier.

Originally from Saddle Brook, NJ, Veronica has lived in Miami, New York City, and now Los Angeles. Her travels through a variety of locales and cultures, from the Latin inflected Miami, to the musical grab bag of NYC and finally the sun kissed West Coast have given her music a joyous power tempered by truths learned through experience. Her songs deal with everyday life, family, relationships gone bad (and good). In other words, personal topics we all can relate to.

Beautiful, thoughtful lyrics and a kick ass voice
Each song on this CD digs deeper in to your soul with each listen. The lyrics engage both the heart and mind and Veronica's sometimes haunting, often powerful and always gorgeous vocals keep you entranced. This is a cd you keep in your stereo for a while and as you come back to each track, you find something new. Awesome!

Jersey Girl Hits The Big Time!
I hope to read my title one day soon in L.A. Weekly. I got a three song sample of this and had to buy the full cd! I think it is rare these days to get a new cd with more than 4 good songs. This cd has 9 or 10 good ones. Veronica sings and writes her songs with so much feeling and emotion she really keeps you tuned in. I guess my favorite tracks on this cd would be: "It's Better", "Rearview Mirror" and "Mt. Song" but they are all really good. She also gives you a nice Italian treat with her version of "Vitti Na Crozza". Great job Veronica! I sure wish you the best of luck.

AUDIO NOTES: The cd is mixed and produced very well. The overall sound is tight, crisp and punchy. I like the fact that the producer did not over eq the acoustic guitars with lots of fake sounding high-end. The voices are also recorded very dry without a lot of electronic trickery. He also kept the bass drum, toms and cymbals very natural sounding. I wish more recordings these days were done as nice as this cd.
