Album Notes
In a crowd of teenagers, Vanessa Campagna is no different. She goes to school, loves to shop and lives to hang out with her friends. But put her on stage behind a microphone and in front of a crowd and you have one young, yet mature performer. Her explosive stage personality has made her a fan favorite and has catapulted her to national attention.

Vanessa was chosen out of 24,000 youngsters to appear on CBS’ Star Search. Since then, she has performed with some of the greatest artists in the music industry such as, Reba, Wynona, Tricia Yearwood, Vince Gill, Clint Black, and Dierks Bentley.

She has also performed with rockers Rick Springfield and Donnie Iris and has sung with some of televisions hottest young actors & musicians such as Drake Bell from the “Drake and Josh Show” on Nickelodeon and Aaron Carter, Everlife, A.J. Trauth, T-Squad and Triple Image from the Disney Channel.

Her poise and grace has gained her respect among some of our countries top symphonies. So much so, she has toured on numerous occasions with award winning composer/conductor Marvin Hamlisch and various symphonies including our National Symphony in Washington, DC, the Buffalo Philharmonic Symphony and the world renowned Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In fact, Marvin Hamlisch and Vanessa, along with seven time Grammy winner, Roberta Flack, performed in honor of First Lady Laura Bush at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Washington, DC. The event was hosted by Kuwaiti Royalty and attended by many members of the Cabinet including Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, and Hollywood greats Mike Douglas and his father, Kirk Douglas.

From as early as 6 years old, Vanessa has entertained numerous people during the Christmas Holiday season. She appeared in The Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s “A Christmas Carol” and has brought smiles to the hundreds of thousands that celebrate Light Up Night each year in Pittsburgh. Many have seen Vanessa on WPXI-TV and along the route of the annual Macy’s “Celebrate the Seasons” parade in Pittsburgh, while others have heard her on Froggy Radio’s Hometown Christmas and Lite Rock 92.9.

Her appearances in the B.E. Taylor Christmas Specials were explosive while her own headlined Christmas concert has become a highly attended annual event at the Beaver Valley Mall Center Stage. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said after one of her shows, “…the blossoming star power and whopping voice of young Vanessa Campagna shined brightly.” Some of her most memorable moments have come from appearances with Marvin Hamlish and the “Holiday Pops”. In the words of the Buffalo News after a “Holiday Pops” performance, “Vanessa is a precociously gifted vocal powerhouse and a mature singer reminiscent of a young Celine Dion. Vanessa has been able to warm the hearts of many as she spreads the Christmas Spirit through some of the well-loved Christmas standards of yesteryear and the new and exciting pop music of today. Said one industry insider “Her stage presence is unbelievable and her personality is contagious; it wouldn’t be Christmas without seeing one of Vanessa’s Christmas shows.”

Most rececently, Vanessa released her sophomore CD, “Can You Hear Me Now” which showcases her dynamic vocals and sassy style. Recorded in Nashville, this full length CD has a couple songs she penned herself, “Neighbor Boy” and “Do You Like”. Her title track, “Can You Hear Me Now” expresses with heartbreaking power a teen’s yearning to be heard in a post-Columbine culture where adults’ failure to listen can have disastrous consequences. On “And He’s So”, currently receiving wide-spread air play, Vanessa sings with adoration about the perfection of young love, but later shows off her sassy side on “Superman” as she laments a “one sided romance” before deciding her happiness doesn’t depend on any one guy.

Just imagine a young lady with all the ambition in the world. In the words of Vanessa’s producer, “You can try and slow Vanessa down, but you”ll never be able to stop her.” In Vanessa’s book, dreams are meant to come true!!
