Is Hip-Hop Dead? Not according to Urban Mercury...
It's been too long since any Hip-Hop group has made an actual album and not a jumble of singles. Illuminati has crafted a soulful sound that carries through the entire CD. Popping in this highly polished album one is reminded of Public Enemy in their heyday or BDP in the late 80's. Songs like USA and Revelation are reminiscent of the late great 2Pac or even Common. While songs like Who R U? and Push Up tear the clubs up with no reservations. This is a must have for any serious fan or anyone looking for the next best thing in Hip-Hop. I give it 5 spins out of 5. An instant classic from Providence, Rhode Island. Who knew?
