ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE QUEENS OF CRUNK
The Queens of Crunk are a female rap group out the southern state of Mississippi. The two member group consists of Lady Boss and Brown Sugga. With only two years in existence, the group has made a striking impression on its audiences with their unique style and their hype stage appearance. The Queens of Crunk express their tyrical content with a "Crunk" deliverance and a southern twist. The world of hip-hop should keep their eyes and ears open for their blazing album, "The Queens of Crunk" which is bound to get you CRUNK!!!!

Brown Suggas was born in Miami, FL. From the age of 4, Brown Sugga has been very musicall inclined. From the house parties to community Deejays, the rapper was always an attendant, learning all the new music, street dances, and the latest street slang. At the age of twelve her family moved to a small town called Pace Ms. located in the Mississippi Delta. While growing up the unique rapstress was a vry active student. She participated in talent shows, school programs, class activities, and sports which helped her to gain interpersonal skills. By the age of fifteen she discovered her ambition to write. Brown Sugga spent a lot of her free time writing short stories, poems, and raps. She graduated from West Bolivar High School in Rosedale,Ms. She furthered her education to later on fraduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting but this never seized her love for music. Brown Sugga began to mix her ear for music and her creative writing skills to create songs. Years later she teamed up with the Eupora,Ms. native Lady Boss and their manager Steve A to forn the group, "Queens of Crunk."

Lady Boss was born in Ackerman,Ms., but is now a native of Eupora, Ms. She graduated from Eupora High School. Lady Boss had a love for music and wanted to express herself through songs. She joined a singing group called, "Enhanced". The group didn't work out for Lady Boss so she went on to express herself through rap lyrics while exposing her talent at house parties and community rap offs. With gaining local recognition,Lady Boss began going to different studios to record her songs. After tuning in to the radio one day, Lady Boss turned up the radio as it played one of her favorites, "Make it Hot", by Redd Rumm who was an artist on Hit'em Hard Entertainment. She always wanted to meet the owner of his label. One day Lady Boss was given her chance as another artist of this label informed the owner about Lady Boss's talent. Steve A and Lady Boss met and they went on to start the group called, U.G.Q.(Underground Queens) consisted of Lady Boss and Fire. This unification didn't work out so they went on to discover Brown Sugga and formed the "Queens of Crunk."

The Street Fame Music Group presents the "Queens of Crunk." You've heard the Kings of Crunk, now it is time to get your crunkship flying with the "Queens of Crunk." Lady Boss is one of smoothest and crunkest rappers out of Mississippi. This unique female rap group is ready to hit the world of hi-hop by storm!!

Comments:If you have a dream, don't let anything hendor you from pursuing your dream. If it is something that yo enjoy doing, continue to do it and do it at your best. Surround yourself with postivie people who will be thre to five you postive advice. Success is when preparation meets opportunity. It is better to put an effort toward pursing a dream rather than not putting forth the effort and wondering about the outcome. A failure is one who falls and stays down, you are not a failure if you fall but continue to get back up and try again.

Watch out for "If You Can't Get It Crunk"!
This abovementioned song is the album's best by far. This continous, fluent and brisk flow of both female rappers remind me of Solé's "4, 5, 6" (featuring JT Money, Kandi) back from 1999. Amazing work!

The most elclectic version of African American Street Music
Since the Queens are strongly versed in the 21st century repertoire I had high expectations when this cd was announced and was in no way disappointed. The recording puts each of the four players very accurately in the sound stage. This results in plusses and minuses. On the one hand you get a chance to follow each of the individual voices in a way that even Glenn Gould couldn't possibly approach. Yet, this spatial resolution at times results in some sense of dissolution. Following a less is more philosophy, the Queens play the work straight, without any romanticisms. While, the tempos tend to lie at the faster end of the spectrum, everything sounds unhurried and right. Thanks to their meticulous playing and attention to detail, the work shines like an intellectual, spiritual and deeply humane artifice.
