Album Notes
3 Twats in a Forest is a group of best friends from high school. To spite their music teacher who doubted their songwriting abilities, claiming that it was nearly impossible to right a catchy, hilarious tune in less than 5 hours, 3TF wrote their first song titled "Boioioing". After that they were a hit! Teachers and students alike couldn't help but laugh and the outrageously relatable lyrics and quirky demeanor that these 3 friends portrayed on and off stage.
Lilly (vocals/pianist/bassist) soon went off to the Berklee College of Music to study Contemporary Writing and Production techniques to bring back to the twats. Lucy (drums) and Kalon (vocals/guitar) were still in high school, yet eager for Lilly's return the following summer and the debut EP that would follow it. During the summer of 2019, "7:09" was born.
"Kale Chips" is an ode to Lilly's failing love life. Based on a true story, Kale Chips follows a freshman in high school as she tries to navigate the dating world. She was misguided, however, when her mother packed her lunch. Having no other choice, she decided to indulge in one of life's most esteemed treasures: kale chips. The green leaves peaking out from behind her metal grin deflected any slight love interest that might come her way, and it haunts her to this day.
"This Song is About Hot Dogs" is not just about hot dogs. This tune embodies a more satirical take on the current political climate in the United States, covering one of the absolute most controversial topics in modern-day society: are hot dogs sandwiches? You tell me.
"Censorship Song" is inspired by those hopscotch rhymes we'd all sing when we were younger: Ask me no more questions, tell me no more lies. The boys are in the bathroom zipping up their flies are in the meadow, bees are in the park...etc. Cute, simple, short and sweet, Censorship Song is one that anyone can sing along to.
Finally, "Boioioing," the song that started it all. This tune is a compilation of all the worst pickup lines known to man; all based on actual pickup lines 3TF members have received. Representing the most chauvinistic and misogynistic people in society, "Boioioing" allows the listener to see through the eyes of society's creepiest.
Boiled down, 3TF is just 3 friends who love making each other laugh. We all just happened to know how to write songs and play music on top of it.
(Love you guys. -Lilly)
