07.27.07 Press Release. Ancestor EP available today.
The newest delivery this summer from Thomas Watkiss is a 7" vinyl e.p.
entitled ANCESTOR. Leading from his work on canvas of post-industrial
abstractions and severed environmental frames, he renews the approach with
his heaviest and most carefully produced release to date. Combining
fragments of distorted guitar, echoing bass effects, found sound and
freshly composed ambience, ANCESTOR opens a sonic plain that can appeal to
followers of both contemporary art and experimental music.
The American pressing of the EP is limited to 500 copies in black vinyl
with a full color layout by the artist. Written, recorded and mixed in
Sweden and the United States ANCESTOR is merely a short sample of what to
expect from the full-length set for completion this November. A number of
worldwide independent music and art-publication retailers will be selected
to carry the EP this fall with clusters of live dates to be announced on
the website: www.thomaswatkiss.net
