ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Out of Phase is a wave-grinding new album from Portland, Oregon’s premier space-surf rock band. The Protons cover more musical ground than many other contemporary "surf" bands, effortlessly gliding through garage, western, prog, sci-fried and straight-up r&b styled tunes.

All songs cut straight to the hook, with any unnecessary filler removed. Songs such as “It’s a Shitty Day for a Picnic”, “Don’t Worry Your Pretty Li’l Head” and “Battery-Backed Memory” have the Protons displaying an inherent ability to manage more thoughtful musical moments, just as easily as they can kick-things into high-gear with revved-up tunes like “Attack of the Cybermen”, “The Earth Will Die!”, or churn out a an epic roller-coaster track such as “Be Prepared for a Fantastic Adventure Into the Future”. All timing in at just over 32 minutes.

Recommended for fans of: The Ventures, Man or Astro-man?, The Tornados (and, incidentally, The Tornadoes), Dick Dale, Link Wray, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, Los Straitjackets, Satan’s Pilgrims
