After spending 10 years in Houston TX, Jeremiah Johnson has moved back to his home, St Louis. You can almost taste the Texas in his guitar style. Johnson has put together some of St Louis' best talents in this world class band.

Jeremiah Johnson is the new face of Mississippi River blues. Walk into a gin joint in St. Louis and you’ll likely hear the familiar “blues” sound that made the area famous.

It’s lyrics about the struggles of daily living with the hallmark blues style guitar that rips at your soul and soothes the spirit. Johnson takes that rich heritage but also blends influences that shaped his rugged youth like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, BB King, Albert Collins, Albert King, Johnny Winter, Alvin Lee from Ten Years After, Les Paul, Chet Atkins, and Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., to name just a few.

On top of a rich gumbo of solid songwriting, Johnson kicks it up a notch with The Sliders, Jim Rosse (trumpet) and Stuart Williams (sax). In their 25-year tenure together, The Sliders have toured with Little Feat, Johnnie Johnson, Bob Weir of Rat Dog, and have played with too many great players to mention them all.

Paired together with The Jeremiah Johnson Band, you get an energized entertainment experience that will put the honky tonk in major venues to come.

November of 2010, The Jeremiah Johnson Band with The Sliders released their debut CD "9th and Russell"! It has been extremely well received by radio and fans! With radio play from Alaska to Florida, US to Japan! The success of “9th and Russell” has propelled the band to the forefront of the St Louis music scene.

The Jeremiah Johnson Band with The Sliders, are the proud winners of the 2011 St Louis Blues Society IBC Challenge.
They were also named the 2010 St Louis "King of the Roots" winners!
In addition, Jeremiah Johnson was proud to be the 1st place finalist of the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Houston TX Regional Blues Challenges, sponsored by The Houston Blues Society.

The band is now releasing their sophomore CD, “Brand Spank’n Blue”! Released November 2011, they are expecting to make an even bigger splash in 2012.

Brand Spank'n Blue is a winner!
When these guys got together, genuine music magic happened, Jeremiah’s brilliant lyrics combined with his perfect bluesy raspy voice, polished with the powerful trumpet of Jim Rosse, and the toe tapping harmonic pull of Stuart’s saxophones defies anyone in the room to stand still for long. Their newest CD Brand Spank'n Blue capitalizes on Jeremiah’s fantastic skills on the fret board and the powerful polish of the Sliders horns. Jeremiah’s voice is like another instrument in the group and displays a maturity gained from his travels through the Deep South and Gulf Coast. There are no bad songs on this CD.
You won’t hear much cover work being done by this band when you see them live. They have a library of their own original music that will stay with you long after you hear them, and you must make a point of seeing these guys live. Sit in on one set, and you’ll have a new favorite group to follow. In the mean time buy this CD and pick up their others while your at it ... You won't regret the decision.
