Positively Negative

by Sunnworks

Musically- melodic and dark, lyrically- melancholic and poignant. Full of power and emotion, harmony and dissonance while pushing the envelope creatively. Ian Curtis would love this album.

Album Notes
In the summer of 2011 Doug endured a catastrophic left hand injury requiring emergency surgery and months in a cast and therapy to regain as much hand movement as possible . Unable to take care of business on his farm and unable to perform put him in a tortured state of being. So using his right hand, Doug is left handed, he began to write the lyrics and music to the bulk of the tracks that would become Positively Negative. By winter 2011, out of cast and at 95% health he began the recording of the material. So here's the finished product. Like the rest of the Sunnworks catalog, Positively Negative, is full of power and emotion, melody and dissonance while pushing the envelope creatively.

Al L. Tennyson

Grief Revealed
I sometimes hold it half a sin
To put in words the grief I feel;
For words, like Nature, half reveal
And half conceal the Soul within.

But, for the unquiet heart and brain,
A use in measured language lies;
The sad mechanic exercise,
Like dull narcotics, numbing pain.

In words, like weeds, I'll wrap me o'er,
Like coarsest clothes against the cold:
But that large grief which these enfold
Is given in outline and no more.
