ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is a compilation of live-recordings from various concerts by the well-known vocal maestro Pandit Suman Ghosh, with accompaniment on the Tabla provided by Pandit Shantilal Shah.

Pandit Suman Ghosh is an internationally acclaimed Hindustani Classical Music vocalist of the Mewati Gharana and a leading torch-bearer of Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj-Ji. His mellifluous voice, combined with his soul-stirring artistry and technical perfection, elevates music to divinity, leaving worldwide audiences spellbound. Referring to him as a “virtuoso performer” in a review of his Saptak (Ahmedabad) concert in 2014, the Times of India, the largest circulating English language daily in the world, described another of his concerts in 2015 with the headline “A Night of Musical Bliss”. Winner of a number of prestigious awards and honors, Pandit Ghosh has performed all over India and many other countries of the world. Pandit Ghosh began his journey in music at the tender age of 7 under the guidance of his mother Smt. Monika Ghosh. Later he trained under the maestros like Pandit Shrikant Bakre, Padmabhushan Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, and finally, the living legend of Indian music, Padma-Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj-ji, who transformed him into a full-fledged performing musician.

The Hindu, another leading daily from India, writes, … “Well-known for his spiritually inspiring concert performances, innovative workshops and lectures, Pt. Suman Ghosh, shuffles between performance and academics with equal ease...”.
