Album Notes
Christopher Johnson born July 17, 1983 in Inglewood California. Family moved to San Jose, CA in the Bay Area when he was 10yrs. Strict started rapping by the age of 11. Falling in love with the bay area music scene, Strict quickly adapted to the tunes of E-40, 2 Pac, Luniz, Mac Dre, 11-5, RBL Posse, Cougnut, JT The Bigga Figga, but also was bumping Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, The Dogg Pound etc. Taking under the wing of his uncle China Mc Cloud from China'z Cabinet Studio, China molded Strict helping him develope his own sound. By 18 Strict released his 1st group album Big Gamezmen titled "Go'n Big Time", which was produced by his uncle in 2001. Big Gamezmen was a 15 tag team man group that China had put together. Each member was from different cities within the bay area which included San Jose, San Francisco, East Palo Alto, Oakland, Vallejo & Richmond & also out in the valley Sacramento. Big Gamezmen went on to selling over 10,000 unit independently in the streets of the bay area which helped Strict gain popularity in the streets. By 21 he & his uncle released their group album "PDR Superstars" titled "Hard On The World" in 2001 which also went on to selling more then 10,000 unit independently.

In 2005 Strict started produced and earned his music engineering certificate in 2007. Strict worked with and produced artist such as Kurupt, J Stalin, Mistah F.A.B., J Diggs, San Quinn, The Jacka, Rich The Factor, C-Bo, Messy Marv, Turf Talk, Sean Paul of the YBZ, DJ King Assassin, Marley Young and many more.

In 2005 Strict 9 moved to Kansas City, MO to be closer to his mother. Living in the midwest in one of the most violent cities in the United States, helped shape and remold the new young Dr. Dre of his time. His music became more aggressive with a street commercial feel. Other artist quickly learned of a new producer and music enginner in the city. Gaining the likes of Rich The Factor and the respect of with Tech N9ne, Strict has surely built a name and has reinvented himself as not just an artist but also as a well rounded producer/music engineer. April 4th 2017 Strict 9 released his debut solo album "Blame It On The Hood" which features guest artist such as Mistah F.A.B., J Stalin, Messy Marv, Turf Talk, Marley Young, Geezel and many more. Two weeks after he released his solo album, Strict was shot 9 times with a 45. cal on April 28th 2017. Having to survive surgury and three days of acoma, he has since then been making a full recovery. Waiting to get back in the studio, Strict is already writing for his next solo album.

Be on the look out for Strict 9 as he is being looked at as the new Dr. Dre of today's time. If you want to hear the real from a real artist/producer, buy his new LP "Blame It On The Hood".
