ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Notes From My Journal: Seascapes was originally published in the 1980s at the height of the New Age Piano era. The series was listed in the top 10 New Age albums by the East Coast Rocker, Harmony and the Aquarian Journal. Seascapes can still be heard on NPR, in every major aquarium in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Seascapes has also been one of the favorite calming sounds used during a massage. Seascapes, part one of the four part series (Seascapes, Landscapes, Cityscapes and Escapes) that was inspired while visiting Helen and Scott Nearings 'Forest Farm' in Harborside, Maine with a group led by Paul Winter of the Paul Winter Consort. Melcher lives on a farm sanctuary in Upstate New York but still spends as much time in the summer at his 'Top O' the World' cottage near Vinalhaven, Maine. He is the house pianist for the Rabbit Room in Honeoye Falls, New York and frequently performs for fund raising events.
