As the quality of hip-hop and techno continues to vary widely from artist to artist, new genres continue to emerge which explore the more thought provoking capabilities of electronic music, and indeed, much has been made in recent months and years of the ever-burgeoning Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) movement. Stereoprimer couldn't give a shit about IDM.

Stereoprimer has been called a monster by some, a threat to all that is pretentious and inaccessible about dance music. They'll tell you that Stereoprimer is cheating, that a half-human, half-computer has no place making electronic music, but the only thing accurate about that statement is that Stereoprimer is in fact the result of the night janitor at IBM banging prototype CS1000b in 1977. More ridiculous is that these detractors exist at all, as Stereoprimer gives this music as a gift, lo, an indifferent gift. Stereoprimer could make an album a day if he wanted to, consider it gracious that he limits his output to a point that there remains money in people's music budget to buy the work of other, fully human artists.

That's the hardest thing to grasp as you wade through the output, that Stereoprimer isn't even trying! You think beating Deep Blue at chess is impressive? I say that making Deep Blue dance puts any chessboard victory to shame, and Stereoprimer has been credited with giving Deep Blue the intangible funkiness that has cropped up in his work recently. Stereoprimer could make the most complex shit you've ever tried not to dance to, but why bother? You make a computer dance and it's like making a sandwich with a mathematically perfect ratio of mayo to turkey in it, and making that sandwich is like hopscotch to Stereoprimer. You are going to like Stereoprimer. Deal with it.

Or just keep listening to Right Said Fred and see if Stereoprimer cares. 1001101000110
