ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A SMALLBOIFUNK STORY: The young emcee out of Denver fell in love with the culture at an acute age. His childhood spent countless hours in his room studying hip hop in its true essence through its slow demise towards the 2000\'s. The artist soon found music as a creative outlet, helping him through a bumpy, troublesome adolescents as he searched for his true identity in his transition to self discovery. In his first year in High School, smallboifunk put out a collection of personal work he distributed he called \"Escape\" The Escape EP was a vivid combination of complex lyrics, innovative beats, and deep basslines. As his name slowly grew, so did the art. A 2nd album appropriately titled Days Passed was independently recorded in the Fall of \'06 Days Passed was a thoroughly produced, 18 track record with a jazzy, backpack feel to it. smallboifunk started holding local Hip Hop shows, in honor of promoting his new album. With a Live Drummer and turntablist, indie music fans of all kinds began the buzz of the young cat with a microphone. Identifyable to much of todays youth, smallboifunk\'s sound takes listeners back to hip hop at its greatest era, reminiscent of truth and the brutal honesty we all new and appreciated in the golden ages of the art. His signature mix of funky rhyme schemes and lyrical patterns allow him to stay true to not only the beats, but the flows that earn respect in the highly combative streets. With a newly discovered concept in mind, the smallboi has stirred up a new melting pot of honesty and lively hood with \"Subtle Youth\", a pivotal story of the young rappers rites of passage from childhood to adulthood. Throw some truth in the pot, a little dab of anger, and firejuice and there you have a smallboifunk. His new independently recorded record Subtle Youth drops Summer of 2008. Be on the look out for smallboifunk and crew rocking in \'08 @ a venue near you!
