ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Skuttl'Butt was born from the Washington, DC Hardcore underground scene. Playing with and around Fugazi, Jimmy's Chicken Shack, Scream(Dave Grohl), Clutch, Bad Brains, Lucy Brown and Nothing Face. Marcel played in a few bands such as Black Earth and Afrodisiax until he found success with Skuttl’Butt; a hard-core, hip-hop, ska band. Skuttl’Butt landed a deal with a small local label and began to play all over D.C., Virginia, Maryland and at New York's famous CBGB’s. Skuttl’Butt earned the reputation as the “heaviest band” at the Black Rock Coalitions 1995 Stalking Heads tour. Host and founder Vernon Reid (Living Colour) was inspirational in Marcel’s goals and direction. The band split and Marcel headed west. Where he joined some cats from LA's famous "MIT" Musicians Institute of Technology and became Faith In The System.

These guys are why I love cdbaby. The industry totally overlooked all of this ta
The band is tight the songs are funky, groovy, Heavy Metal. This album and this sound is strickly original. I like the political spit from lead singer MD, especially on Slash On Deception, Thick and UN-Useless Nations. It's hard to believe this was written years. ago. Because they are talking about the same issues and Mayor of Attitude could easily be the governator Arnold's campaign theme. If you like it hard fast and real listen to Skuttl'Butt and get Compensation!
