Sir“ Oliver Mally and Martin Gasselsberger might come from different musical worlds - their new programm however proves, that Contemporary Blues, Singer/ Songwriting and Melodic Jazz go together incredibly.
These two exceptional artists play mostly own songs, partly derived from the tradition of Steve Earle or Townes van Zandt, as well as influenced by Muddy Waters, Lightnin´ Hopkins, John Lee Hooker and likewise.
Without imitating „note-by-note“ though, the emphasis lies on the musician´s personal style, granting their songs great originality.
The sensitive interplay and sense for dense atmosphere guarantees a thrilling evening.

Some songs are best prepared if you just let ’em happen!

-Atmosphere and expression combined with a stylish, straight forward but laid back approach-

That was the bottom line and the beginning of a journey for two guys - comin' from different musical backgrounds - but decided for the same direction.

Nothin’ was too much designed, most of it was not predictable – everything’s a moment’s moment full of excitement, relaxation and emotion. Music for her own sake, some would say. Without any kind of ego-boosting powerplay.

A blend of Singer/Songwriting and melodious Souljazz spiced with a “blue note” here and there. Songs arise. Words and music crawl under your skin.
