Album Notes
Sawyer Fredericks is a talented 14-year-old singer-songwriter, originally from Newtown, CT, now living on his family’s farm in the town of Glen, in Upstate New York. A prolific songwriter, with more than 30 original songs, he is very proud to release his first full-length album, titled “Out My Window.” Sawyer’s music has a growing world-wide internet following and has appeared on an independent music chart in the UK, while Sawyer has been working hard at honing his performance skills at local Open Mic Nights, charity events, and professional gigs. His songs are written and performed with a sensitivity and storytelling ability far beyond his years, winning him an audience of all ages. Older fans often say he reminds them of acoustic artists and songwriters from the 60’s and 70’s, such as Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. Among his many musical influences are Ray LaMontagne, Johnny Cash, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Here are some comments from fans:
“I have been following Sawyer's videos for about 3 years now and I have to say it has been amazing watching him grow from a cute, little boy with a good voice to a very talented young man with a voice that could be award winning and a way of writing lyrics that no one else can compare to.”
~Tiffany Marsh, Seymour, CT
About “Not My Girl”: “Another CLASSIC SAWYER SONG!! An Old Soul, as I've said about a million times lol. It's just such an awesome experience to listen, as he guides you through the song and makes you FEEL it. Lovin' it!”
~Tim Blaisdell, Mason City, Iowa
"He is an artist. That is all. That is what stands out for me when I listen to his songs, not just a singer, not just a songwriter, but a true artist, with more talent than I've ever seen from anyone this age. In a world of screaming-little-girl-driven mediocre teenage music, you are a beacon of light and a source of hope for the future of music as a form of art.”

Amazing, Inspiring, and Mindblowing!
I thought I better get a review done for this album, since I have been putting it off.
I discovered Sawyer's music this past July by searching for videos on YouTube. Since viewing his captivating original song “Might Be Brighter”, I quickly noticed how incredible Sawyer is by drawing his listeners with emotion-filled and soulful lyrics. Immediately I was a supporter and a big fan.
Since I have bought this album, I have listened to it constantly. At home, it’s at my bedside. At work and travel, it’s on my cell phone. As you listen to each song, you will find yourself mesmerized and focused on Sawyer’s creative sounds, grooves, and mindful lyrics that will stick in your mind. Oh, almost forgot to mention, as you visit his youtube channel, Sawyer has super guitar skills, applying percussive rhythms and precise chords to perform his tracks.
“Out My Window” is an AMAZING album and belongs on everyone’s CD shelf. Definitely go get a copy and enjoy great music and connect with Sawyer, a talented multi-dimensional artist.

Young singer/songwriter with an old soul
"Out My Window" by 14 year old bard Sawyer Fredericks is one heckofa first effort by this talented and insightful
young man. Sawyer plays and sings his blues/folk/love&loss poetry as if he has lived every moment if every song.
His voice is a haunting mixture of crystal youth and staid wisdom. I found myself crying at the deep pain expressed in the inside outness of tracks like the title cut "Out My Window". Everyone should listen to this heir apparent to the likes of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and other greats to whom he compares!!

Not just a performer, an artist
Have listened to Sawyers music and supported his efforts to get this CD made and came to the conclusion that while there are a lot of kids out there singing, auto tuning, doing covers of others music, Sawyer approaches his work with the eye and ear of an artist. Like Picasso made paintings, Sawyer writes and performs his songs. He has the attention to detail that I havent really seen since Michael Jackson and this coupled with his obvious talent is going to propel him into music history. I look forward to going along on the ride.

What An Amazingly Talented Artist!
There is a little bit of everything in this album. Sawyer puts his heart into every song and you can feel it. I listen to "So Lucky" or "Why so Blue" and I think of the people in my life that I love most and feel the need to reach out and tell them. That is powerful! Sawyer's acoustic guitar skills and singing ability succeed artists twice his age. I love the rhythm and guitar drumming in "Afraid," "Not My Girl," and "Short Temper" most. "It's You" is a playful song about a significant other that just will not work and it made me laugh when Sawyer says "you can't get in... stop tryin'!" I love Sawyer's music and he's even more amazing to see live! Powerful album.

Wondeful CD!
I had spent $20.00 on many things, CDs, DVDs, Books-but I must say that the $20.00 I spent on this CD is the best $20.00 I ever spent in my life. Sawyer is a 14 year old New York boy with a youthful and yet powerful voice. His songwriting is years ahead of his time, deep and emotional and yet joyful takes on various aspects of life, some from personal experiences and others not. He has the ability to grab your emotions and hold them until the very last song-From "I'm so lucky" to " It's you". This is one very talented 14 year old. It's been said of Peter Sellers "There are many geniuses-but there's only one Peter Sellers" The same can by said of Sawyer-Their are many geniuses-but there is only one Sawyer Fredericks. Get this CD-you won't be disappointed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your season 8 winner of the voice
Everyone in Canada, if you want a fresh face on the radio, then meet Sawyer. Now aged 16 years old, our little prince is now your season 8 winner of the Voice on NBC, which means that he will soon give us his very first opus on a major recording label. I have just listened to so lucky, which is the first song from out my window, and it really sounds great. This youngster will surely surprise us in the years to come.

I was compelled to Sawyer the moment I heard his voice. But it was more than just his unique sound charm. There was, for me, some quintessential spirit coming through him that gave me the chills when he sang - even at eleven years old. I thought: this is someone who could write music to influence the world. I have not felt that kind of energy or had that kind of hope since the 60's/70's when, at that time, a number of unique souls with powerful messages in their hearts shaped and inspired in a time of social revolution. I think Sawyer has the potential to be a voice like that in these times. I hope he continues to write music that, as he evolves and matures, embodies compelling delivering messages real and truthful and inspirational in the simple powerful way that is Sawyer. Food for the soul; especially in these times of deep change.

Out My Window and Out of the Past
While I was raised on folk music--more than 50 years ago--I thought I might have to replay the 'oldies' forever after. Not so. In his first CD, "Out My Window", Sawyer Fredericks has done some truly fine folk/indie-pop sounds. An accomplished guitarist, Fredericks accompanies himself on the disc, throughout. All of the sensitive, original songs are well done. Among the offerings, the bouncy, "It's You" to the "Why So Blue?" and "Afraid" tracks are absolutely memorable. Astute and accomplished beyond his years, Fredericks has created a folk "must-have" repository for his listeners and fans.

That's one powerful voice!
I first heard Sawyer sing a couple of days ago and the beauty of his clear, powerful, soulful voice knocked me off my feet. I am enjoying listening to his CD and reliving that stunning experience.
