by Samuel Mitchell

Life has it's many changes and trials, but to endure those trials, we must be still and trust God. In this piece, the piano symbolizes the many changes in our life while the strings symbolize stillness in the midst of them.

Album Notes
My heart goes out to those who struggle financially, encounter life tragedies, or face difficult trials. During times such as this, our lives can seem hopeless, miserable, and restless. There is only one solution to enduring these trials, be still and trust God.

I was inspired to write this piece when a friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer. Around the time of receiving her diagnosis, she had lost a loved one. My heart was truly burdened for her during those trials. One day as I was composing at the piano, I was thinking about her. A tune came to mind, a very simple and serene tune. It then developed into a full piece, in which I felt was most appropriate to title, "Still."

Composing this piece led me to this thought - Be still and trust God even though life has it's many changes and trials.
