ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Salim, born and bred in Baltimore, has performed in prominent metropolitan venues as well as in café-like coves throughout the East Coast since 2004. He and his live band, The Music Lovers have opened for Slick Rick, Method Man, and Black Sheep within this past year. As the writer and producer for his 17-track debut album Hip Hop Revisited, Salim has been described as the “embodiment of hip hop’s evolution.” His desire to incorporate live instrumentation into his music led Salim to form his group, The Music Lovers, in December 2005. With continued performances throughout the Baltimore/D.C. area, Salim & The Music Lovers continue to attract a diverse listening audience eager to explore hip hop’s higher plane.

Something to groove to for days.
Coming from someone that is not a big fan of hip-hop, I think this CD is off the hook. When I first got it I put it on in my car and listen to it for like two weeks straight. My favorite track is track 9, but don't sleep on tracks 7&8 cause they are doing it too. The whole CD is worth every cent I suggest that everyone get a copy.

IT A'INT NOTHING LIKE HIP-HOP MUSIC
I have 7 words to summarize my thoughts about this CD,
IT AIN'T NOTHING LIKE HIP-HOP MUSIC!!!!
Salim has Lyrics, production and a unique flavor.
This CD is what Hip-Hop needs, underground sound that will be demanding.

Hip Hop has rarely sounded this good...A true "gem" indeed...
There are only a handful of Hip Hop cd's that I've ever been able to listen to from beginning to end without wanting to hear something else, and this one falls into that category. I was first turned on to Salim after seeing him on stage last year, and I'm happy to say that with this studio effort, Salim comes with the same raw, honest verbal heat as he does in his live sets. (Check out "The Anti-Rapper" and "Real Hip Hop" for example). This album is a true testament to Hip Hop as it should sound. As another reviewer said...a true "gem" indeed.

Salim gives Hip Hop some mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
This CD will go down as a true classic and gem for hip-hop. Salim flawlessly takes you on a journey back to what hip hop used to be and puts the commercial rap industry on blast. in a day when rappers rhyme for one verse per song and fill their albums with other rappers salim holds his own the entire album from i emcee to anti-rapper.

This is what hip hop is supposed to sound like...and more!
Salim's CD HIP HOP REVISITED is a masterpiece from start to finish. Just opening up the CD's lush packaging and reading the insightful, poetic intro from Salim is a masterpiece -- and that's before even listening to the CD!!!
I absolutely love this CD -- it's one of those gems that keeps getting better and better with every listen. Not only is Salim genuinely talented -- artistically and lyrically -- the music itself is fresh. I love what Salim has to say especially. Everything on HIP HOP REVISITED is done with integrity, with passion, with love, with a sense of humor, and with soul. I honestly recommend to EVERYONE. You don't have to be a hip hop fan to love it -- in fact, if you've never liked hip hop until now, make this the first CD you buy because it will change your mind. I can't wait to hear more from Salim.

Some of my favorite tracks are "The Anti Rapper" "Hip Hop Glory" "I Emcee" "Luv Ur Vybe" "Hood Rich" and "Divine Intervention" -- but there's 17 tracks on the album for a reason....I love them all.
