ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

My friends at KFJC 89.7 FM Foothill College, in Los Altos CA, invited me to perform live as part of a four hour special featuring my music. Because this station is special to me (it's where I performed my first live event ever, in 1980) and because they celebrate experimental music, I wanted to play an improvised concert as much as possible. Some of this gear appears for the first time in my live rig. This means that I make mistakes, and sometimes the notes aren't perfect. I like this because it's real, it's what I do. You can see a bit of my process, warts and all. (Some of the ideas here surfaced on my 2015 album “Filaments” and some find their ways into other tracks as they evolve.) - Robert Rich

Robert Rich played DSI Prophet 12, Korg M3, Eurorack Modular with SynthTech, STG, Intellijell and other modules, lap steel guitar and PVC flutes, computer control from Ableton Live.

Improvised on May 28, 2014 with some elements derived from different years, ©2014 by Robert Rich BMI. YouTube video (posted in 2014) Camerawork courtesy of Foothill Jr. College students. Mastered by Robert Rich for audio release Sept. 2016.
