Album Notes
A founding member of the legendary 'Rock with Horns' band CHICAGO, Robert has lived the changes that have occurred in the band and the world of music. This Rock band, which began as an experiment in 1967, has alternately broken new musical ground, set trends, fallen into disfavor, rebounded and continued to be amazingly successful, constantly touring in the USA and Internationally. CHICAGO has a permanent and influential place in the mainstream of Pop/ Rock.
Robert's presence and participation has had much impact.
His list of HIT songs include such classics as: "Does Anybody Really know What Time It Is?", "Beginnings", "Questions 67 & 68", "Free", "25 or 6 to 4", "Another Rainy Day in New York City", "Harry Truman", "Saturday in the Park" among many others.
He has also had an active solo career with FOUR well received albums:
"SKINNY BOY" (Columbia)
"IN MY HEAD" (Blue Infinity Music)
"SUBTLETY&PASSION" (Blue Infinity Music)
Roberts' solo activities have brought interaction with a wide range of other musicians, an experience which he treasures. Stylistically, his music is in the domain of Urban Pop / Art Pop / World Music, which reflect his openness to all music.
He has a worldwide fan-base. Robert recently performed a live concert in Auckland, New Zealand which was filmed and recorded for a DVD release in the coming year.
This new release "TOO MANY VOICES" is actually a re-working of "IN MY HEAD" which had received "4-Star" reviews when initially issued in 1999. But this new CD includes no fewer than 6 additional tracks, featuring guest artists Phoebe Snow and Smoothjazz Trumpter Chris Botti.

I love Lamm`s music, to me one of the Fab Four ,
I love Lamm`s music, to me one of the Fab Four, the others three are Wilson,MacCartney and Bacharach. Es un tipo inteligente y generoso y aquí tenemos una muestra de su buen hacer y saber adaptarse a los nuevos sonidos y estilos pero siempre con su particular estilo. Too many voices but only one Robert Lamm`s voice.

Solid Effort with a few surprises
This cd is a little varied musically and has some nice duets with Robert and Phoebe Snow. However, their cover version of "Good Lovin' Ain't Easy To Come By is just attrociously baad!

Another great work from a true artist!
Too Many Voices is actually a far stronger album than its shorter, previous incarnation, In My Head. The six new songs add more organic textures (Schitzoid in particular rocks!) to balance out the beefed up, contemporary electronic production. The new running order, in particular, makes this album a better listen than the old version. The songs, of course, are all up to Robert's high standards, and the guest spots from Phoebe Snow, Carl Wilson, et al are great added treats. Better than Skinny Boy (it's hard for me to say that!), better than Life Is Good, and at least as good as (if not better than) Subtlety&Passion. This one's a no-brainer!

I loved Too Many Voices so much, I'm gonna buy it again!!
I loved Too Many Voices so much, I'm gonna buy another one :)

Creative, magically, Masterful. "His" music says it all.

Nothing short of fantatic, new songs, remastering is excellent!!!!!!
The remastering of this CD , the new songs and sequence
really brings out the quality of the music. I love the new
songs especially Heart of me.
This CD will keep you wanting to hear it again and again.
I love the lyrics on these songs as only Robert Lamm can
put into music the deep intricate meaning lyrics of his.
The sound quality is a vast improvement over the original-
well done to all those involved

A Brilliant Collage Of Music From One Classy Singer/Songwriter!
Too Many Voices is a brilliant collage of music performed by Robert Lamm that captures the emotional side of the listener and sensors the perceptions visually and audibly while at times tugging at the heartstrings. The original songs are fresh and new as they are joined by 6 rare songs recorded for but never released until now. Every song displays strong lead vocals, supurb harmonies, and an amazing delivery. Mr Lamm is joined by his very good friends to work together on this amazing classic! This is a must have for everyones collection! Enjoy!

Robert Lamm: Too Many Voices
I have been a Robert Lamm fan since I was a teenager. I don't know what took me so long to listen to his solo work. I LOVE IT. He really is an amazing artist. I love his style, his creativity, and his sensitivity. I highly recommend this CD and I am very impressed with CD BABY, as well.

A nice variety of selections
If you're a Chicago fan and don't have any Robert Lamm, Subtlety & Passion is the one to get -- it's almost like getting Chicago 27. Too Many Voices would be my second choice out of Lamm's four solo albums. It offers a nice variety of selections, although the strongest tracks still seem to me to be the ones carried over from In My Head.

Some songs are "previously unreleased" for a reason!
Don't get me wrong, I adore Robert Lamm. I even devoted a website to him before the official one even existed. I love the original version of this CD, In My Head. But... most of the new songs, previously unreleased, really don't add much. As a fan, I am glad to have them, but I can see why they never made the original. The new additions just aren't as good. They aren't awful, just not up to par. Also, not that it affects the music, but I'm not crazy about the cover art either. I like the colors, but it is too similar to the cover of Subtlety and Passion. This makes no sense, because this is basically a re-release of In My Head. Why not play off that cover instead?
Overall, I would recommend this CD to a fan, just for the purpose of completing your collection. The price is nice!
