Album Notes
George Oldroyd (1887-1956) was an Anglican church organist and composer best known for his Mass of the Quiet Hour. The Three Liturgical Improvisations are contemplative pieces based on plainsong chants. Organist Robert Jan Dukarm performs Liturgical Improvisation No. 1 on the Hellmuth Wolff organ at Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria BC, Canada. Dukarm is the organist at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Victoria. (Thanks to Christ Church Cathedral for providing access to the organ and for its support for local musicians.)
