Album Notes
"Remnant (formerly known as Remnant Militia) is now on everyone's radar after a stellar full-length debut in their Anthem of a Life project released in 2004. The crew has a long history and looks to have an impressive future as they continue to churn out hot new music for years to come." - SphereofHipHop.com

Formulated in 1996 as "Remnant Militia" the crew released an EP called "A Document" in 1997. The crew quickly grew in acceptance among peers and fans within the underground hip-hop community and made multiple appearances on other groups and artists releases through the following years. In 2001, after a small reformation they dropped "Militia" from their name and have since been simply known as "The Remnant". A dynamic 5 man crew of emcee's: Deacon, Surreal, Drastic, Neogen, and producer/emcee Construct. Just as you will find in their music each member possesses a very different personality, culture, upbringing, and past. Each member brings something different to the table which continues to allow their music to grow and relate to everyday people.

When asked " What are some things that truly inspire you" in an interview with Sphere of Hip-hop, crew member Surreal said it best: "Life, it's problems, it's solutions, it's struggles, and it's victories. Making a difference can not be topped in satisfaction, and sense of accomplishment. I have also been a big fan of the mind, creativity, and craft. For me Art is the reflection of all those things. Fans and my crew make me hungry to gain levels in skill and creativity. And of course, the greatest Artist of us all, the unfathomable God the creator."

The Remnant is arguably a well recognized and respected underground music group and has been changing the way many individuals view Hip Hop and its effect within the urban community. On "Anthem of a Life" The Remnant boldly makes their entrance and introduces a very unique style of aggressive and confrontational lyrics from real life experiences with a blend of their strong spiritual beliefs.

Several years of being featured on other artists albums and a scarce EP in the hands of a growing number of die-hard fans has proved invaluable. This long anticipated full length debut "Anthem of a Life" was released in 2004 and immediately gained strong recognition and proved to be well worth the wait. "Our art reflects the artists, from spiritual convictions, to journeys of the mind, to simple displays of craftsmanship, skill, and culture. This is just the beginning." - Surreal (The Remnant)

One reviewers insightful write-up had this to say. "The caliber of lyricism in this album will be the most impacting part of hearing this [Anthem of a Life]. There is no doubt that the lyrics in this album show how well The Remnant have mastered their art"..... "Anthem of a Life is only a preview of what they have in store for listeners. The Remnant continues to get better and will definitively be a permanent fixture within the Hip Hop community. As they continue to stand true to their one of a kind style, [The Remnant] will not only gain a loyal fan base, but they will also be around to influence and change the lives of generations long after they are gone" - imagiin360.com
