ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
REARDON - the band based around US Pro Freeskier Matt Reardon. It all started in Munich, Germany late summer 2000 as a project between Matt Reardon and producer Joern Kachelriess from YearningRocks studios.
Recordings for movie productions from Thierry Donard (Nuit de la Glisse 2000 - 2002), Teton Gravity Research (Further) and a few other films from Red Bull (Best of Extreme 2002), Rip Curl (The Search pt 2 & 3) and Movie Night of Extreme Sports (2003, 2004) put the two straight into the mood. An invitation to play live at the London Daily Mail Ski Show in November 2001 marked the starting point for Reardon as a band.
In Feb. 03 ''Free From Code' hit the stores in Europe and during 2003 - 2004 Reardon played numerous shows in Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland.
Meanwhile singer Matt Reardon is back in the States and about to release his follow-up album (check the band's website for further details). And by the way, there are two more original Reardon songs available right here at CDBaby at www.cdbaby.com/gstring

Some press comments on 'Free From Code':
FHM Germany 04.2003 | Germany
"Sitting at your desk, playing air guitar, shaking your head like a headbanger and kicking imaginary drum pedals. Looks stupid, but it doesn't matter as long as it's Reardon's debut album rotating in your cd player. Rock without endless leads and longhaired posers. Simply great music matched with Matt Reardon's impressive voice, which Eddie Veder from Pearl Jam really would have needed on his last album."
Martin 5* out of 5

RockHard 03.2003 | Germany
"...Never change a thing? If freeski professional Matt Reardon would have sticked to his neckbreaking runs, jumps and stunts, the post-grunge scence now would have missed a more than worthy album. The US American Chamonix/France resident used Creed's debut cd "My Own Prison" as a blueprint, especially the darker sounds. With the opener 'Break' and the nicely grooving 'Further' his debut "Free from Code" contains two songs, you easily could present the public as prevoiusly unreleased Creed tracks. ..."

Buy this CD!
This is one of 4 CD's I own that I listen to from start to finish without skipping tracks. In fact, I think I might wear it out if that's possible! When I first listened to it on CD Baby.com, I was halfway through hearing the 2nd track when I knew I had to buy it. All the songs are great, in my humble opinion. This isn't a CD that has one or two good songs on it then a lot of filler. BUY THIS CD! You won't be sorry.

Excellent surprise, a new favorite.
I can't seem to listen to anything else. The lyrics are heartfelt and transport you to the same frame of mind, while the music rocks and keeps you intertwined and wanting more. Can't wait for the next one - it's consuming!!

Something For Every Fan of Rock & Roll.
Mixing elements of Fugazi & Black Sabbath with the more relaxed melodies of Ben Harper and Jack Johnson, "Free From Code" provides something for everyone interested in the genres of hard rock, ska, and indie. Standout tracks include the uplifting "Elevation" and the soulful "Right about Now".
