ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Quiet Bear is the side project of Anthony Hoisington from the Buffalo based band, Brothers McClurg. Recorded at Old Bear Studios in December of 2018, Quiet Bear is a project that takes a minimalist approach to its instrumentation utilizing acoustic guitars, keyboards, and a vintage seventies drum machine to provide the backdrop for the lyrical storytelling by Anthony. With topics ranging from a lonely traveler’s journey to heartbreak, the four songs carry a haunting and heartwarming feel throughout with a delivery by Anthony’s rich and warm vocals that makes you feel like old friends meeting up at an old Adirondack campfire to catch up on life. With a writing process that started for Anthony at the drum machine rather than the keyboard for each song; and the inclusion of Jeremy Thompson lending his signature session Old Bear sound to the recording, this is a release we’re excited about and proud of Anthony for; simply because it takes guts to do something different musically in this day and age - and we’re so glad he did.
