ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pleasure started making records in 1974 for the Fantasy Record Company. Their first recordings were produced by Wayne Henderson of The Jazz Crusaders/Crusaders fame. Their big hit, "Glide" released in 1980, still receives worldwide acclaim for its trend-setting bass performance by Superstar Bassist and bandleader Nathaniel Phillips. Pleasure's 1976 hit, "Joyous" has been featured in the classic hiphop movie, "House Party," and sampled by Janet Jackson and Sugar Hill Gang, among others, and the 1980 hit, "FutureNow" was sampled by Will Smith on his "Born To Reign" CD. This is the first full production release in over 30 years, and the hallmark all-around musicianship Pleasure is noted for is even better now than before. In addition to compositions and performances by the original hit writers and core band members, Nathaniel Phillips, Michael Hepburn, Douglas Lewis, and Dennis Springer, "Summertime Pleasure" features a host of new talent rounding out the veteran roster, including Brian Foxworth on drums, and Michael Whitmore singing lead and background vocals. This is the vintage, yet new sound of Pleasure you've been waiting for.
