ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
P-Eye-Eye have been working in the esoteric genre of experimental electronica since 1995 when they won the Future Music magazine competition for best experimental track. The prize, a recording contract with ambient / experimental label T:ME / EMIT Records, UK.

Their first label release as P-Eye-Eye was on the seminal EMIT 2295 T:ME compilation album appearing alongside Coco Steel & The Lovebomb, Scanner and Woob. DJ Magazine June '95 review -- " ...Flinch not either from P-Eye-Eye's track (Lost at Sea) which jumped out and slapped me in the face with great panache! Not a 5am brainstorm from the chemically challenged as I first thought but a textural, moody one that reveals more with each pass... " The track was re-released in 2000 on a best of EMIT on Instinct Records USA, (Moby's first label).

Today P-Eye-Eye are now regarded as ambient / experimental music pioneers with their own unique sound, having been one of the first groups to use the RSS. (Roland Sound Space system) a 'Revolutionary sound processor that creates a three-dimensional sound environment using conventional two-channel playback. Today, it is an indispensable piece of equipment in all audio industry sectors'. See http://www.roland.com/about/en/development-history.html

Further to establishing the P-Eye-Eye publishing and record label, Diamond Life Recordings, P-Eye-Eye have worked with a wide range of experimental, dance, indie musicians, labels, filmmakers, even tribes and monks from around the world, to produce their many varied electronic releases, namley the P-Eye-Eye - DataFlood album series, various live performances, radio show work, TV, film, multimedia soundtrack work and experimental ringtones.

P-Eye-Eye are also still establishing new ways of creating and selling their music as well as new ways of dealing with copyright issues. We are always looking for new input to our DataFlood series and look forward to hearing from anyone interested in working with us.

Remember 'Make Tea, Not War'. and Peace be with you brothers and sisters....

Diamond Life Entertainment Ltd & Diamond Life Records mainly deal with 'P Eye Eye' or PEE.

what do people say about us?

Great question, but I expected to see that P-Eye-Eye would dominate. That track was a standout among standouts. I've gone to great lengths to pick up em:t releases that I wasn't lucky enough to score in the last century, but that track is a genuine wonder. I was lucky enough to score about seven records before the prices got astronomical.

" ...flinch not either from P Eye Eye's track which jumped out and slapped me in the face with great panache! Not a 5am brainstorm from the chemically challenged as I first thought but a textural, moody one that reveals more with each pass... " - DJ Magazine June '95 review.

"P Eye Eye are quite possibly the strangest performers on the little known ambient vaudeville circuit. theirs is the sound of cartoon communication, let's see you categorize them." - David Thompson, EMIT.

"P Eye Eye are pioneers of electronic soundscapes.

Beyond control... It's Throbbing Gristle, but less frightening. Or more frightening. Nice dubby delays. I like the little tinny washes of music in there. Reminds me a little of chill out, but with funk.

Fire in the sky... I'm surprised to hear a tump tump 4/4, but that's good. I expected everything to be ambient. Techno, techno, techno, and now a surprise. A heavier beat over the top, orb styleee. Nice. Vocoders... Trippy. Now there's vocals. It's great. Funky bassline coming in. Wow, this thing moves. Great stuff. And then it turns into something almost mainstream sounding. Love the variety.

Walk with me.... The guitar(?) tone feels like joy division. Gives it an instant feel. That was interesting. I was so into it, that I forgot to write about it and started drifting off... Kinda like Underworld if they did it properly. Certainly feels more 'authentic' if that makes any sense. Has a feeling of the early days, but mixed with modern minimal.

Nuclear free world....Nuclear free zone..! I'd image Digweed playing this out a couple of years back. Nice message with funky percussion backing. Learn 'em as they dance.
