ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Here's what Pure Pop Radio's Alan Haber had to say about "Laurel Hill" and "A Girl Like That", two cuts from this first self-titled EP by Paperhearts, a studio project showcasing the bright, melodic British Invasion and Folk Rock inspired original songs of Baltimore-based singer-songwriter Michael Smith (ex-Ripovs): "The pure popper 'Laurel Hill' was produced by Pure Pop Radio favorite Andy Bopp; the energetic 'A Girl Like That,' with a hint of Byrdsian honey, was produced by the group’s bass player, Jim Grice. Their full EP is something to look forward to, for sure!"

Other guest producers include the great Dave Nachodsky (at his legendary Invisible Sound Studios) on two tracks, and Baltimore's own J. Robbins (of Jawbox & Government Issue, etc.) on one (recorded at his Magpie Cage Studio), with musical contributions by a stellar assortment of talented veteran players from both Baltimore and DC: Jimi Lethrbridge (drums); Tim McDermott, Mike Forrester, Kevin Driscoll (guitars); and Mark Giuliano (keyboards).
