ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Opal is a hard rock band based in Superior, Wisconsin. Combining heartfelt vocals and strong, multi-part harmonized guitars with a thick, grooving rhythm section-- bringing a tidal wave of aggression and passionate sonic anthems.

Founded in October of 2007 in Superior, Wisconsin, by singer/song-writer Theron Hayden, the earliest rendition of Opal recorded a live demo album as well as five studio tracks. Opal’s “Just To See Me Bleed,” reached #5 on the internet radio show, Forbidden Radio, in California. On May 21, 2011, Opal opened for Disturbed, NonPoint, and Art of Dying at The Eagles Ballroom at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before disbanding.

During the summer of 2013 at Madison Media Institute’s studios, Hayden with David Corvus and Nathan Kast produced three powerful songs: the aggressive “KarmaChrist,” the dancey hard rock anthem “Sick Drama Carousel,” and the rock ballad “Hole In My Heart”-- the latter of which propelled the band to #5 on Reverbnation’s Rock Charts for Madison, Wisconsin. "Sick Drama Carousel" received frequent airplay by 104.9 WXRX in Rockford, IL, on their local artist showcase Revolution with Reverend Time; meanwhile all three songs from the EP were put in daily rotation on the independent internet radio station, My Metal Radio.

Opal performed consistently from November 2015 through August 2016, during which they shared the stage opening for several national acts, including: In This Moment, Starset, SOiL, Hed PE, Eve To Adam, and Emperors and Elephants.

As of 2018 Opal has brought back some of its original members including: Jake Bunt, Matt Eastman and, Ryan Raprager. Along with Dan Axtel filling our the rotation Opal plans to be back hitting the stage in early 2019 when they will release their debut album “The Eleventh Hour: Portrait of a Broken Man.”

This album was Produced by Burn United Records.
