ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"For two guys with acoustic guitars, Madison McCoy sound surprisingly 'non-folk'. They remind me more of Crosby Stills & Nash or Led Zeppelin waxing acoustic. Their songs are lyric-based and contain lots of excellent harmonies. If you like your rock on the lighter side, Madison McCoy may be just the sound you'd appreciate."
-Mare Wakefield, Eugene Weekly

Having met in college at Western Oregon State University and becoming the duo, Madison McCoy, Tom Madison and Randy McCoy have been playing together professionally for nearly 20 years in a few different formats, most notably their 7 year stint in Seattle with the 5 piece rock band, Miles Exeter, during the late eighties/early nineties. Though they weren't grunge, they were somewhat influenced by that Seattle experience, which was very formative for them as musicians, playing along side such bands as Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden as well as sharing the same engineers and recording in the same studios as those bands. Having added mandolin, Irish whistles and hand drums to their sound since the Seattle days, some have called their current ensemble "acoustic rock with a Celtic twist."

Madison McCoy recorded their CD in their own studio, "Coyote Hill Multi-Media," and created their own label under the same name. They are currently working on their next CD due out this summer, 2002.

The most notable quality to their music is most undoubtedly their rich harmonies. "That's what people comment on the most," says McCoy. "You dont hear a lot harmonies in much of the music these days. We've always thought that our harmonies - and writing - are our strongest attributes."

Please give our songs a listen. We hope you enjoy them, and if you decide to buy our CD, well, Thanks!
