ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Maureen Griffin’s (who is now Ms. New York Senior America 2018 and Ms. NY Congeniality Senior America 2018) albums are a collection of original songs based upon her personal motorcycle adventures all around the U.S.A., both solo and with her husband Curtis Damone. Their 10,000-mile cross-country honeymoon in 2015 was featured in American Motorcyclist Magazine, and her music has been featured in Good Times Magazine (on which she made the cover) and Aces Magazine.

Her passion for riding, combined with her passion for singing, inspire her songs. Her lyrics range from funny to heartfelt, and delve into the experience of riding, as well as the whole biker culture. All of her lyrics are based on true stories with real names, places, and events, and they often come with a humorous spin. “Biker Food,” for example, pokes fun at what bikers typically eat and drink (“Jack with a brew”), a diet which had packed 15 pounds onto her petite frame (“I eat everything with an order of fries, and watch chili dogs goin’ right to my thighs”).

Her music is inspired by music legends Billy Joel and The Beatles, as well as folk singers from all eras, and her many singing styles have been inspired by Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Linda Ronstadt, and Liza Minelli.

GOOD TIMES MAGAZINE says:

"Maureen Griffin has held a place in our hearts since 2015, thanks to her charming pair of biker-themed albums . . . . [T]he heavenly voiced Griffin and her country rocking backing band keep things lively throughout, and [XOXO] is a likely landmark in a music career that’s late blooming but obviously just beginning"

Maureen's band on Biker Girl features Blues Hall-of-Famer Jason Green on guitar, and XOXO features over a dozen musicians, including Long Island’s Skip Krevens on pedal steel guitar.

Maureen's fourth album, BIKERS ANONYMOUS, not only features songs about her motorcycle adventures; it also features songs about the dreams she has pursued in her 50's and 60's, proving it's never too late to follow your heart - a theme she especially espouses as Ms. New York Senior America.

On Maureen’s third album, HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING, Maureen returns to her roots in Gospel music, picking her favorite old-time hymns and, as always, performing them in several genres from classical to country.

Whether you look at her original biker songs or her Gospel music, you will find that Maureen is also passionate about her faith in God and her dependence upon angels. “You don’t ride a motorcycle without a lot of prayer and spiritual intervention.” The message in her music: “Riding is like life itself: It’s all about the journey. God bless and ride safe.”
