Album Notes
Into the Equinox, directed by Rydell Danzie is a Folklore Horror/Thriller that is set in the outbacks and water ways of Alaska. Rydell was very direct about the feeling of the score having a tribal indigenous sound, yet at the same time, a traditional sound with some modern hip elements mixed in. As with most scores, it is a marriage of sound and visuals that make up the tone and feel of the scene. The score itself is a bit of a shift away from the typical MATURO sound, but as with film music, it can be another conduit to show case another style.

Excellet film score
Equinox showcases Maturo's skill with creating vibrant fast paced and slow music. The Folklore Begins, has a contemporary Native American sound, which is one of my favorite genres. Rider of No Return has Maturo's electronica signature, and The Morning After has his piano signature. The album is diverse, with drama, suspense, adventure, mood and chill music. I especially enjoyed the familiar songs that Maturo folded into the filmscore; Nevertech, Lotano and Mandeep.
Maturo's strategy of releasing the album before the release of the movie, pays off. You are able to fully appreciate the quality of the audio (sound) without the distraction of the video (film). With the reverse process, the soundtrack is secondary to the visual work.
