Album Notes
My name is Marty Rakaczewski. I have been a professional musician for many years and have done everything from playing with national acts to recording scores for soundtracks. I was voted guitar player of the month by Guitar Nine records for my solo recording work. I love Christmas music but have never heard an album where it had tasteful musicianship that did not stray too far from the orginal feel of the songs. I compose and record my music all by myself in my home studio. I play every instrument and mix and master my own stuff. It is a daunting task but the rewards outweigh the cost. I am an avid music lover and love to hear great musicianship. I try to create a mood for each song in my compositions so I hope you enjoy listenting to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!

This is what Christmas should have been at my hosue growing up.
Every year, everybody has to put up with every Christmas song that comes on the radio, whether you really want to or not. Go into your local bank, shop at a nearby grocery store, hell, just go to work, and they feed you till you're ready to burst with the same damn songs, year after year. Or, what's worse, you'll get "popular country" versions of the same, boring songs. When I first heard this, it was like waking up from a Christmas nightmare. Whether you're a guitar pro and can notice subtle differences in petatonic scale changes or just someone who likes van halen, whatever you dig, this is not your grandfather's oldies collection. Each song is a blast of metal, classic rock and even experimental stuff you'd never expect to hear on a local album, LET ALONE a Christmas cd. Marty Rakaczewski has done more than just put out a killer holiday album, one anyone can listen to, but he has given us a a certifiable damn present himself, one that belongs under anyones tree. rock on!
