Album Notes
A natural talent for songwriting and arrangement. A solid muscial craftsman and performer. Hollywood's hidden treasure - *drum roll please* - Mr. Mark Arnell! With so many credits under his belt, this British-born singer-songwriter is with out a doubt, a hidden treasure about to be exposed.

Unbeknownst to most, Mark is the enormous singing talent behind Jason Lee's character Dwight Hendricks on TNT's smash hit Memphis Beat, now in it's 2nd season. With his gruff, powerful, yet sometimes velvety rich voice, Mark is the man that makes Jason Lee sound so good, a fact proven by the number of fans Mark recently aquired. "Since the airing of the first season he has accumulated many fans which has boosted downloads of his original music with his band i94", and it's because of his fans Mark decided to release an album of a mixture of songs from both seasons of the show.
This album has everything from 60's soul classics to awesome versions of Elvis's big hits.....

The Beat of Memphis by Mark Arnell
I Love Marks Voice, such a natural talent, when I first heard it I did not know who it was, had to literally hunt him down. He plays with a Band called I-94 they are a great Alternative Rock Band! I heard him in a couple other places, he was originally from England. Then I started watching this new show on TNT TV and the lead roll was played by Jason Lee and he was singing some of Elvis' old standards at the end of the show, I am going, I know that is not Jason Lee singing, I just know that is Mark Arnell so I went on the hunt again, and let me tell you it was not easy to find him at first cause there was nothing out there.. But I am a determined woman, when I hear a sound I like, I find out who it is.. I did find out that it was Mark for sure found him on line and eventually on Facebook and have waited and watched him climb, and been his best advertisement ever since!!

Wait until you hear this! You'll want it too!!

I, too, had tried to find Mark's music from Memphis Beat ever since I first heard him on the series. In particulare, the song, I Want to be Free, has haunted me ever since I heard it. Thank you, thank you for getting this album out!!

Best blues/soul album take on these songs!
I LOVED hearing Mark on Memphis Beat- I'm a big blues/soul fan, and I love all the 'greats', but what really makes me happy is when a muso can put their own spin while keeping the original integrity of a song, and Mark seems to do this effortlessly! Only one question- where, oh where could I get your (Mark's) rendition of 'When The Saints Go Marching In'? I'm in love with that little slice shown in the show, and was really hoping for it to turn up too, to no avail.
Brilliant muso and singer, I'd love to see Mark do more of his take on songs like these- I could listen to them all the time =)

Definitely recommend- all the way from Australia =D
