La nascita delle cose segrete

by Gill Civil

An inspired rendition of Ludovico Einaudi's beautiful song - Gill Civil takes it to new heights. This music would work perfectly for a ballet/dance performance or as a movie soundtrack.

Album Notes
This is the first cover song Gill Civil has ever released. She's made "La Nascita" quite different from the original, moving the melody more quickly across a 3/4 time signature, rather than the original 4/4 used by the composer. The result is magical.
If you like this style of music, watch for Gill's upcoming release "Aurora Australis"- a collection of original piano compositions fitting the New Age and Classical/Contemporary genres.
Gill Civil, a New Zealand composer now based on the Sunshine Coast, BC, Canada, has long been inspiring professional dancers and ballet students alike with her energy infused piano music. She has worked for major dance companies in Australasia and Canada and during the 80s was a full-time accompanist at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. Before moving to Canada in 1990 Gill recorded and toured with several bands - including the renowned pop band Crowded House - she played keyboards on their 1986 Australian tour. Gill has also composed music for many different mediums including works for Australian and NZ dance companies, film and TV scores, as well as choral and orchestral pieces. Recently her song Isol, originally composed for her alternative band Marie and the Atom, has featured as the title music for a Television New Zealand series called The Good Word. A classically trained pianist, Gill is a prolific composer of solo piano music. Her "Dancing Keys 1,2 & 3" CDs have found an international audience with ballet and modern dancers as well as fans of New Age music. They have also become a favourite with the Royal Ballet Company in London, England. Gill accompanies ballet classes for Ballet BC, Simon Fraser University and Arts Umbrella in Vancouver.
