ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Louarnika is the studio project of a talented French female violinist and singer.

Born in New-Caledonia, Coralie is inspired by the horizon. Violinist since the childhood, she increased musical experiences, from metal music - yes, with an electrical violin - to traditionnal and folklore tones. At 16, she became the youngest composer registred to the copyright society of composers in New-Caledonia and performed violin on more than ten albums released since 2008 (Sylvaine, Artesia, Dark Sanctuary, Belenos, Osculum Infame, Dom Duff...).

After some years in Paris, she decides in 2017 to set up home in the Celtic western France, in Bretagne, where she records her first album, called Horolaj Loar. Except on the final track, she sings and plays all the instruments, from violin to guitars or percussions, in a both contemplative and rythmic style. Her music follows some years of journey, with bends by the Scandinavian seas, where strings resonate in a folkloric way, with bends by the Celtic seas, where chant and steps may answer to each others, and with bends by the South seas, where some warm sounds and beats appear.

Old instruments, like the viol, join the lyrics about nature and mythology, singing in English, French, Breton and glossolalia. They invite to be carried by the winds, the breezes and the tempest.

The physical release of Horolaj Loar (CD cristal) happened on April, the 17th, via the independent French label MusikO Eye, and set off some passionate reactions in the national papers and magazine, leading Louarnika to begin performing on stage.
