ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Lionel "Lonny" Ziblat has presented his 1st solo album in 2011 after debuting a revolutionary Progressive Rock album in 2010 with his band Modest Midget. 'The Great Prophecy of a Small Man' was a one-man initiative that ended up being unanimously embraced by Prog Rock critics worldwide. It was an attempt to take the genre one step back and try to evolve towards a new direction. The album was embraced by many in the scene as the Prog debut of the year and the band was crowned by Dutch Music Maker’s Arno Hagemans as ‘the missing link between the Beatles & Frank Zappa’.

With his first solo album Lonny was looking for a more ‘straightforward’ musical idiom without compromising the sophistication of his music. ‘Songs From The Drawer’ (2011) became a more intimately oriented entity which was endorsed by many as having awaken a raw musical quality that hasn’t been around since the 70’s. The album was chosen by Edwin Ammerlaan (Dutch magazine ‘Revolver / Lust For Life’) as one of the best albums of the year and was presented in Buenos Aires, counting with the presence of several famous guest artists (among which Mavi Diaz & Laura Ros). ‘Khalom’ (2012) - his first album in Hebrew was published the next year.

Lonny has since been working with artists from a variety of musical genres, arranging music for - among others - the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (according to many, one of the top three orchestra’s in the world), Grammy award winning Tango singer Omar Mollo & Dutch writer & performer Wouter Hamel. Ziblat also regularly composes soundtracks for TV & film. 2014 saw the release of his second album with Modest Midget – ‘Crysis’ and he has since been meticulously working on his current solo album. The music video ‘Another Day’ for which Lonny opted to shoot a video with a drone in the Argentinean Patagonia - combing an area covering more than 2400km’s - has been premiered during the 2018 International Short Film festival in Mumbai, where it was awarded a certificate of excellence and was praised for it’s astonishing images and music.
