Thank you for listening to my song, “The Luckiest Guy on Earth”. The 1950’s was a very unique time in America and perhaps even world history. It was a time of remarkable optimism. A devastating war, World War II, had come to an end and the soldiers who survived had come home. The economy was thriving and there was a baby boom. The music of the 1950’s reflected this remarkable optimism: an optimism that I have tried to capture in this song. There are no instruments in the song because the song tells the story of a man who believes that by the sheer force of his voice, his wits and his will, he can garner the affection of the woman he loves. That’s what the greatest generation believed: that by the sheer force of our wits and our will, all things are possible. It turns out that they were right. Enjoy!
