Album Notes
With 6 songs in total (4 originals and 2 covers), More Silver provides a comprehensive breakdown of the capabilities and potential for Les Gold moving into the future. Grounded in Indie Rock, frontmen Jenson Tuomi and Travis Ezell play off each other's distinctly different voices to push the limits of their sound; diving into Alternative, Pop-Punk, 50's R&B, Folk Rock and Acid Rock rabbit holes. Lead Guitarist (Tim Kaye) and Drummer (Walter Stern) each bring their own unique instrumentation to the EP, creating moods that traverse the spectrum between sweeping melancholy, and emotionally-charged, high-energy Rock and Roll. Listening to each track, it's easy to find easter eggs and references to their many inspirations while cultivating a sound that is completely their own (influences include the works of artists such as The Shins, The Strokes, Weezer, Green Day, Jim Croce, Elliott Smith, The Everly Brothers, The Cure, and Neutral Milk Hotel).

The first of multiple forthcoming EP's from Les Gold, this is the work of passion, aspiration, despair, self-doubt, and overcoming obstacles through faith in each other. You can hear the heart in this music, and it makes it all the more emotional. What if you finally found a way to follow your dreams? It's a long, hard walk, and all that glitters surely isn't gold - which is why the world needs More Silver, now more than ever.

A genuine musical treat
Much of the music in the indie rock genre is reliant upon generic chord structure, electronic assistance, and sparse vocal textures. Les Gold breaks that mould with tonally intriguing uses of modal mixture as well as neo-Riemannian tonal transformations in some of their newer experiments. That in combination from their genuine instrumental texture and nuanced understanding of vocal harmony have made them quickly become one of my favorite listens. That combined with the fact that this album is the perfect length for my morning commute have made this my favorite EP from a new artist for all of 2018.
