Album Notes
Kristi Rae

Through many adventures across the United States and the bearing down through inevitable tragedies of life comes the waking music of Kristi Rae. Dreamy, inviting, and lyrically sparse, Kristi's debut album is equally at home for long drives across the oil fields of Texas, as in Chicago during rush hour.

After settling into a career managing a retail store, Kristi Rae recorded Various Means of Transportation. It easily envelops the listener with it's spacey orchestrations and lush arrangements. Accidentally a concept album, it begins with birth, follows through the many comings and goings of life, and ends with death.

Kristi Rae's passionate but gentle vocal delivery absorbs the listener easily. During much of the album, the listener can get lost in her vocal work while missing certain understated lyrical themes- that is until a repeated listen with more rapt attention brings one to discover a greater depth than before. As a result, Various Means offers the listener many chances to come closer to the album, and to the artist who created it.

Certainly, Various Means of Transportation marks the arrival of a musician of great depth and sensitivity. Kristi Rae is currently writing songs, recording, and performing in Austin, TX.

This cd is awesome!
This artist allows you to look into her soul through her songs. She shows true vulnerability without sounding weak. Both lyrically and musically these songs are strong, poetic and true. This c.d. has not left my c.d. player since I received it. Simply awesome!

I'm glad it's finally done! It was worth taking the time to fully establish the
The music and lyrics are very complementary. There is a transcendental vibe of human emotion and sincerity that is haunting and pure. If this 1st cd is any indication of future projects, Kristi is definitley on her way to positively impacting the lives of others!

her honesty in music and heart is shared for all upon her sleeve
Kristi rae. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting, sharing, and playing with Kristi while she was putting some of this collection together. I can in no way accomplish all of my heartfelt sentiment towards her in a shortened marquee such as this album review. Beyond being a lovely and understated pillar of honest-introspect, she has honed a completely awesome craft when it comes to sonic storytelling. Kristi is dynamically focused while weaving her natural radiance into a lyrical/musical thoroughbred that cannot be ignored; moreover, it will be remembered and cherished.
Thank u Kristi!

She brings me Home
This CD is surrounding me currently. I'm often in my studio drawing throughout the night, and as Kristi's music echoes into my walls, my artwork flows out with simultaneously serene and intense forces. I listen to her in my house as I wake in the morning, in my car as I cruise Austin, and the music is in my head in between. Yes, I love this.
