Imagine the individual virtuosity of Return To Forever mixed with the infectious groove of Parliament / Funkadelic. Now add in the hip-hop sensibilities of The Roots, and top it off with a vocalist who is reminiscent of a young Stevie Wonder and you may begin to get a feel for the band, Khat Phud.

Formed in Atlanta by four top-flight studio and touring musicians, the band¹s individual resumes list a veritable “Who’s Who” of the industry. They have performed and/or recorded with George Duke, Celine Dion, Kelly Price, After 7, Cee- Lo, Peabo Bryson, Rachelle Ferrell, Five Men On A Stool, Ken Ford, Vesta Williams, Silk, Jill Scott, Bilal, Ann Nesby, Cameo and many, many others.

Khat Phud is:
Daniel Moore on keyboards and vocals (former child prodigy and deliverer of goose bump vocals!),

Dr. Derek Scott on guitar (yeah that’s right, Doctor as in not only is he a virtuoso guitarist but he actually earned a Ph.D. in Psychology… some people!!!),

Aaron Clay on bass (all the bottom you ever need and then some)

Jorel “J-Fly” Flynn on drums (master of flash, rhythmic tricks and dispenser of Waycross Wisdom (you’ll have to ask him about that last comment).

Individually they are all “monsters” on their respective instruments. But don’t get it confused. First of all and foremost, these guys are a Real Band with Real Songs, make that Great Songs! So open up your ears and mind and prepare to experience the living, breathing, musical oneness that is Khat Phud .

The Real Deal
Once in a while a band comes along and knocks you off your feet. Khat Phud is that band!!! I heard them live at Churchill Grounds and walked away with one of the best experiences of my life. The album is great, but watching them live is nothing short of amazing. One of the best bands by far.
