Album Notes
“Jumbledat is the most innovative group ever to have come out of the Blue Mountains … their local following is something that has to be seen to be believed … whatever you do, get along to one of their live shows and experience a creative honesty and vitality seldom seen in the music industry today.”
Ken Quinnell, President Blue Mountains Radio.

“Jumbledat are the kind of party funk band Sydney could only pray for… they’ve got the style and the substance to go far in the music game!”
Jonno Seidler, whothehell.net

When a group of friends got together in 2005 to perform original material at their first major gig, headlining Katoomba’s annual Winter Magic Festival, they brought with them a mix of musical influences so diverse many people questioned how this combination could possibly work. But it did. Within the year Jumbledat was a household name across the Blue Mountains, where the band’s appearances at Triselies nightclub became highly anticipated sell-out concerts. Following the release of their self-titled EP – recorded & mixed by Hermitude’s El Gusto – Jumbledat’s infectious on-stage enthusiasm, inspiring lyrics and eclectic fusion of hip hop, jazz, Latin and funk quickly attracted crowds at numerous venues in Sydney and canberra, as well as an unforgettable performance bringing elated fans into 2008 at last year’s high and dry festival. “It’s really been an exciting ride so far” says Jumbledat MC and percussionist Perrin Moss. “We’ve just completed a film clip for our track momentus, now we’re focused on producing fresh material, then setting off on tour, getting in front of new audiences, live, where we belong.”

The Party of your life!
Who was I? A French Man, just arrived in the Blue Mountains, Didn’t know anything about Aussie or English. A friend told me: “Come on to night at TrisElies, Jumbedat is playing! its going to be great!”! And… oh my goodness, it was AWESOME! The Party of my life! Jumbledat is playing with the funk, the jazz, and the hip hop like no one! It’s smooth, the music just move your body like a tsunami. Even is the music is awesome there is more: the Show! You have to see them on stage! You know when Jumbledat is playing a venue because every single person is actually dancing like no where else, the all crowd is moving, and it’s juts amazing! So just buy it and go to every gig that you can! You won’t regret it!

A Momentus Album
I dare you to listen to the first track--check out their website for the full version--and not buy this album. If hip-hop always was backed by incredible jazz riffs, then I'd be a huge hip-hop fan. This album surely will lead me to explore jazz-hip hop fusion artists.

Style and Substance..
I went to a bar on a cold, rainy Saturday night, having been told by the bar owner about this band, and could I bring a few friends along. I was one of only a few people there, at the time they started their set.

By the end of the first set I had made 40 phone calls, saying, \'Park Hotel, now!\' and simply holding the phone towards the PA. By the end of the night, it was packed to the rafters, everyone sweaty, spent, blissed out, and blown away.

They\'ll do it to you, large stage with 10,000 people, or small bar with 50 people. Their live sound is as good as the CD, if not better.

That\'s the substance.

What if Guru was decided to remix Dizzy Gillespie on his Jazz/Latin tip? What if a bunch of young guys sounded like seasoned players from the 70\'s with a new producer remastering their finest hour?

You\'d have Jumbledat, is what..

Musically tight, a beautiful sense of the live dynamic, bringing a fresh sound not only to Oz Hip-Hop, but Festivals in general.

That\'s the style..

Don\'t just buy it, tell everyone you know. And NEVER miss an opportunity to see them live. I won\'t..
