ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This “Tributo” or Tribute to ‘Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass’ is not a cheesy, fatuous, clichéd, or satirization of Mr. Alpert’s work or of the traditional Mexican folk music I was raised listening to called ‘Mariachi’.

Several years ago I was playing in a lot of Latin Bands playing ‘Corridos’, ‘Cumbias’, ‘Pachangas’, ‘Merengues’, and ‘Norteños’. You will hear in my trumpet playing those styles combined with Mr. Alpert’s.

Actual ‘Tijuana Brass’ songs I played on piano and keyboards were wonderful songs that had a great influence on me like 'The Robin, 'Tijuana Taxi', 'The Lonely Bull', 'Panama', and others.

Un Saludo y Que VIVA ‘Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass!
