ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
CBS Los Angeles has labeled hip hop/pop violinist, Josh Vietti, as one of 2012’s Best Breakout Artists. This accomplished violinist has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, opened for R&B recording artist Ne-Yo and multi-Grammy-winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Earth, Wind & Fire. Moreover, Vietti recently completed a nationwide 140-date college tour and is slated to perform for scores of additional institutions of higher learning when he hits the road again in 2013.

Vietti has performed at the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, HAZE Nightclub also in Las Vegas, headlined at the Microsoft World Partners Conference in Toronto and performed for Live Nation at the House of Blues 20th Anniversary on Sunset in West Hollywood. Josh was featured live on Los Angeles’s KTLA 5, CBS 2 & FOX 11 News on the blue carpet in conjunction with his performance at the House of Blues 20th Anniversary.

On December 11, 2012, Josh was interviewed on Z100’s Elvis Duran Morning Show in New York City. He also performed his violin renditions of ‘Empire State of Mind’ and ‘Black & Yellow’ on the morning show. Josh also did an interview and performed live on Cleveland’s Z107.9 with Colby Colb on December 17, 2012. Josh performed to several hip-hop songs live and received numerous messages on Twitter while on air from listeners who said they thoroughly enjoyed Josh’s fusion of the classical with the hip-hop. He also had the pleasure of opening for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation artist, Bridget Kelly, that night at the House of Blues Cleveland and was very well received.

Vietti has also performed at Austin Fashion Week in 2011 and 2012, and recently performed at the Governor’s Mansion in Austin, TX for the Formula 1 US Grand Prix event that was held in Austin, sponsored by Circuit of The Americas.

Josh was also featured on Eminem's SiriusXM channel, Shade 45 in NYC on September 13, 2012, on the Sway In The Morning Show. Josh performed to several hip-hop songs, was interviewed by hip-hop icon Sway and took several calls from around the US during the morning radio show.

Additionally, Josh recorded two pieces for HITS 1 on SiriusXM for Stanley T In The Morning. Josh was also interviewed on the popular classic rock station Q107 by radio host Kim Mitchell in Tornonto. After the interview he jammed live on air to a loop of Led Zepplin's "Kashmir".

Josh has played the violin since he was four years old. At the age of seven, he received a violin scholarship with virtuoso Mischa Lefkowitz of the LA Philharmonic and studied with him for over ten years.

In 2006, he decided to make a career out of his passion for music. He started playing as a street performer at local venues around Los Angeles.

As a street performer Josh engaged the crowd and created his own concert hall by playing pop, jazz, hip hop, country and gospel, with his own improvisational style.

Through this humble 'pay if you like it' approach Josh has made the acquaintance of the entertainment elite, performing in front of Clint Eastwood, Sela Ward, Les Moonves, Julie Chen, Bruce M. Ramer, David Boreanaz, Blues Brothers Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi, and Vicente Fox. Josh Vietti has sold nearly 50,000 demo CDs from the trunk of his car.

Josh has also performed twice with the Los Angeles Ballet Academy and was featured in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game commercial narrated by Common. He was also featured on CBS 7, ABC and YNN Time Warner Cable in Watertown, New York for his performance at Jefferson Community College in
Watertown, New York in January of 2012.

He has also opened for artists Fabolous, Travis Porter, Andy Grammer, Justin Moore and Brandon T Jackson.

Violin At It's Best!
I first met Josh and Spaghettini’s playing in saxophonist Marcus Anderson’s band. After the show he introduced himself as Josh Vietti (like spaghetti). He was giving Best of Both Worlds away and am I glad he was. I listened to it on my drive back to Las Vegas and was blown away. Josh takes the violin to places it doesn’t belong - hip-hop and pop. His covers of Empire State of Mind, Tender Love and Can You Stop the Rain are perfection! The song Black & Yellow - love, love, love! Best of Both Worlds is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
