Album Notes
Jonathan Blakeslee quit Junior High School Jazz Band when he was asked to turn his guitar amp down. He then formed his own Junior High rock band with a couple of classmates and started writing songs, the first of which was an instrumental called "Pinball Heaven". His next band, "Darjeeling" featured his brother Dan on drums and made space for Jonathan to focus more and more on writing original songs. Over the next decade or more, Jonathan played electric guitar in indie and folk rock bands, upright bass in jazz and free-jazz settings. Throughout, he was the primary instigator in most projects...

Fast forward to 2017-18. "The Band of Fronds" are a few of Jonathan's friends, namely Marc McElroy (Bass, drums, piano, organ, percussion, backing vocals) and Jim Rioux (tasty drums). Jonathan's Dad, Dave Blakeslee played piano on "Diamond Sky". Jazz trumpeter Chris Klaxton is featured on "Mobylette" and "Diamond Sky". Friends Guy Capecelatro III, Emma Vachon and Lilit Davtyan contributed angelic backing vocals. "Ferris Wheelin", is a feel-good, summer rock album, set for release on November 17th, 2018.
